Together We Stand
There’s never been a more important time to defend responsible Frenchie Breeders. The breed has been put under increasing pressure due to the influx of pups from backyard, inexperienced and negligent breeders (often driven by profit) who have churned out thousands of unhealthy Frenchies over the past decade. These poor dogs are suffering serious complications causing incredible pain and suffering to the Frenchies themselves and to the families they have become such an important part.
Fundamentally – responsible breeders provide the best way forward to eradicate the current health problems damaging the breed’s reputation.
We can’t do it alone.
We need you to become informed and involved in the movement to regain the Frenchie’s once great reputation.
But how? We hear you say…
-
- Join us – either formally via the club or via our Facebook page.
- When looking for a Frenchie ONLY use breeders who are recognised, signed onto our Code of Ethics and Codes of Practice and who will support you for the life of your Frenchie.
- And speak out when you hear people talk badly of our breed with solid facts about how we are working to improve the health outcomes for the breed.
Together we can starve out irresponsible breeding and secure a future for the French Bulldog.
Be in no doubt – forces are moving globally to ban or restrict
the breeding and ownership of French Bulldogs.
Part of a Global coalition
The French Bulldog Club of NSW works very closely with our State Dogs Australia branch (Dogs NSW) – where we hold affiliate Breed status. Dogs NSW is the main group promoting responsible dog ownership in NSW. It coordinates breeding regulations, Breed clubs, Judge Training and Registration, exhibition shows, and Breed Standards as well as managing dog and puppy registrations (and pedigrees). They maintain a breed health database called Orchid and provide training and registration programs for breeders & dog owners as well as handling complaints and investigations into breaches of the regulations. And if that’s not enough they are our official voice to parliament.
Dogs NSW is part of the national Dogs Australia organisation (formerly the ANKC) who in turn works globally with the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (World Canine Organisation).
Sponsors
Our sponsors are vitally important in helping fund our activities but more than that they bring important products & services to the attention of owners and breeders. The Club wholeheartedly endorse our sponsors and their tried and trusted products.
Our main sponsor is Royal Canin. Royal Canin produce a breed specific and general food that provides the best nourishment for growing and active pups as well as specialist formulations for allergenic and ageing French Bulldogs.
