About our Club

Founded in 1983 our Club is the first breed club established for French Bulldogs in Australia. We form part of a global network of Clubs dedicated to this wonderful breed. The French Bulldog Club of America is the oldest having been founded in 1897 and across the pond the English founded their Club in 1902.

Our Club continues to thrive and so does the breed Down Under. French Bulldogs continue to rank in the top 10 most popular breeds in Australia. Australian National Kennel Council [ANKC] registrations for 2020 totaled 2,669 (down 14.75%) making the French Bulldog the 5th most popular. Club membership is strong with approximately 80% show/breeder members and 20% pet owners. If you are interested in becoming a member please find an application form on the club documents page. Members receive free with their membership our bi-annual club magazine Le Bouledogue Francais.

FBCNSW hosts two Championship Specialty Shows each year ~ one in April and one in September. Our club is proud to offer exhibitors the opportunity of showing their dogs under some of the leading local and international breeder judges in the world! Over the years these esteemed judges have assessed and critiqued our dogs, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experience which can only help us all in our aim to breed healthy, quality French Bulldogs. this year will be no exception.

The club was created to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred French Bulldogs and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection, and to promote the proper care of the breed. We want to help those people who are interested in all aspects of Frenchies: competing in conformation and performance events, breeding, judging, and just owning and loving their dogs.

Club Meetings

Held bi-monthly on the second Tuesday of the month.  Meetings are held in person and considering the recent pandemic we also have a Zoom link if you would like to participate virtually (or from anywhere).
